Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

12/7/16 Update
Well, surgery is done and I'm on the mend!  My foster dad reports that I'm doing physical therapy and learning to use my back leg again!  I feel like a new girl!  I'm enjoying my foster home and all four of my foster fur siblings but I must admit, I'm ready for my very own family to love and dote on and it would be great if I found them just in time for Christmas!

10/12/16 Update
Hi everyone....Gretta Grace checking in!  I'm now in a wonderful foster home and my foster dad reports that I'm a great girl who is very well mannered!  I walk well on a leash, know basic commands,  is house broken and crate trained.

I share my foster home with five other large breed dogs.   Because I'm a more dominant female, my foster dad made sure that I was slowly introduced to the rest of his pack to ensure a smooth transition.  He says I'm just like all other boxers....I've settled in with everyone just fine!  He also says that I love people and, although I enjoy lots of attention, I'm also happy playing with my chew toys!  There are no kids or cats in my foster home so I have never been evaluated around either.

I'm set to have surgery to fix my hip very soon.  It will take me a little time to recover but I'll be better than ever and ready to go to my forever home as soon as I heal!

Meet Gretta Grace......I'm a pretty fawn girl estimated to be about 3 years old.  I was found as a stray so there is not yet a lot known about me.  The nice lady that picked me up from the shelter says that I'm very affectionate, I walk well on a leash, was a very good car rider and I know how to 'sit' on command!

More information about me will be posted when it becomes available.
