Annie is a female, three- to four-year-old boxer mix who was rescued during the holidays after living in a utility easement in northwest Houston for over six months. She managed to endure a hot summer and many rainy, cold nights without shelter and readily available food and water. Shortly after being rescued by a group of very diligent and kind-hearted women, Annie gave birth to six adorable puppies. Annie has recovered from being scared and timid and is now very affectionate and loving. Because she is busy being a mom, she hasn’t had much interest in playing but enjoys all the attention she is receiving from her caretakers. Annie appears to get along well with other dogs and with small children, but because of all she has endured, she may be a little shy at first around strangers, both human and animals. She loves to be petted and likes to crawl in your lap and bathe you with little kisses. She is very calm and wise but still has a lot of puppy left in her. Annie will be available for adoption around February 24th, after her puppies are weaned. She will make a loyal and devoted companion to the person or family who adopts her.
