Huh?!? Sorry...I didn't hear you! I have no idea what you're saying if I can't see you!
I'm a little hard of hearing. See - that's a good thing. I don't get distracted by all those interesting sounds other dogs notice. As long as you get my attention, we're good. If you don't, I'll still be off in my own world hoppin' around and playing.
Since I can't hear all those warning noises I need to be able to see to feel safe. My foster leaves the night light on outside my crate. If not, I can't help but cry myself to sleep. It's just so scary! Oh...and shadows and reflections are a little creepy too. It seems like there's always someone looking at me through the windows at night. We have to keep the blinds down so I don't try to "bark" them away.
Other than those few things, I am a BRAVE boy. I don't get frightened if you startle me when you're trying to get my attention. I'm used to it! I've been poked in the butt all my life when people want me to pay attention. I know what that means now.
I spent several weeks at a special training facility to learn my basic obedience cues and I do a fine job at them. My foster mom also takes me to work sometimes (she's a trainer too) so I can meet lots of people and other dogs. I've VERY social. Nobody can look away from this face!
I love walking on a leash and playing with other dogs (all shapes and sizes - I don't discriminate). Cats are pretty cool too. My foster-cat-sister lays outside my crate at night to keep me company. I love kids too.
I'm a great match for you and your family if you want a lover-boy who enjoys playing, cuddling, and socializing. You just have to keep a REALLY close eye on me. I can never be off a leash - nor at the dog park. There's just no way for you to get my attention if I'm in harm's way. C-ya!
