Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

ADOPTION PENDING!!!!

My name is Lucy........I'm a boxer mix and I'm incredibly sweet, eager to please, spunky, and VERY smart!  My trainer could not stop talking about how impressed she was over how quickly I pick up on things.  I'm a little sad that I'm having to find a new home.  I was adopted from Lone Star Boxer Rescue as a tiny puppy but the other dog in my home has not taken to me as much as I have taken to her.  She's old and grouchy...what can I say?!

I do pretty well on a leash although I get really excited around squirrels and cats and such.  I know basic commands like 'sit', ‘shake’, 'down', and 'stay'.  I also know what 'kennel' means and I run to my kennel when I'm told to do so.  I'm house and crate trained and I really do like my kennel.

I do very well with children.  In my former home, I lived with a 2 and 4 year old.  I LOVE getting love and attention from people of all ages though. I'm good with visitors, once the initial excitement wears off.  I've been learning that jumping up to greet people is not acceptable but I'm a young pup.....what do you expect?!  I've been told that I'm making VERY good progress.  They say that I NEVER jump on the kids!

I would love to find my forever home......one with a yard to play in and an owner who loves to run as much as I do. I need structure, routine, and daily exercise.  So that's all........As you can see, I'm a young girl with normal puppy energy but very smart, smiley and a quick learner.  I'm good with other dogs and children and I would love to love you!
