Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Hi, I'm Spartan, an easy going, super sweet and laid back Boxer. And just in case you were wondering, the answer is “yes,” my heart and spirit are as strong as my name implies. I was first spotted out on my own in November 2008 and was rescued a few months ago, alone and ready to live with a roof over my head. But, despite my hard life, I still have the sweetest demeanor you could imagine. LSBR has given me so much love and I am ready to give that love back to my Forever Family. Currently, I live with another LSBR pup and two cats. I love to lounge around the house, get a good ear scratchin’ and groom the kitten before he falls asleep himself.
