Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Hi y’all! I was born in Alabama but I got to Texas just as fast as I could! My name, Duke, means “leader,” but about the only thing I want to lead is a life of happiness and fun! I was supposed to be a show dog, but really – who wants all that serious stuff when I can hang out with my buddies? And I count pretty much everyone as my friend (well, except other male dogs), but especially children! They think I am a complete goofball and so much fun! And vice versa!

 

I was born on Christmas Day in 2007, and I am healthy and friendly and well trained (including crate trained). I’m told that I am simply the sweetest dog that ever lived. I love attention, so I would want to go to a family that had time to love and play with me. I hope you think I would be a good fit for you!
