Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

IN NEED OF A FOSTER HOME UNTIL I CAN BE ADOPTED!

Our insides ached with hunger. Comfort wasn't to be found in the cold and the rain. Fear rattled our bones when we narrowly escaped death either by dodging a car or running away from a dangerous human. We didn't know who or what to trust.  My lab mix friend, Theo and I, only had each other.  You see, we were living as strays, unwanted and cast aside in one of the scariest places in town known as the Crosby Massacre Site. http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairballs/2012/02/dog_massacre_crosby_help.php.

We are lucky dogs though.  Several kind ladies saw us and left us food and then one day, a lady captured us and although we were scared, we knew our dreams of safety were coming true.  Can I tell you how happy I am that LSBR offered to help me find a real, forever home?  My friend, Theo is safe but he needs a rescue group to help him too so if you know of someone, please let LSBR know.  We were best pals.

I'm focused on the bright future ahead and will say prayers nightly for all the other pups that need rescue off the streets.  I am a petite, boxer mix boy and I hear that my wrindled brow is cute.  I'm a little shy still with humans but am learning to trust quickly.  I feel much safer when I have another dog friend near me.  I like children, other dogs and even cats so I'll be perfect for almost any home!
