Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Hi there, my name is America! I guess this is the place where I tell you all about myself, but I don’t even know where to begin! I usually let my cute face do all the talking and when you take a look at my pictures, you’ll understand why! My life has changed dramatically since I was brought into LSBR. In September, I was picked up by animal control and stayed there throughout Hurricane Ike. I’ll tell you one thing - that was the scariest experience of my life! As a result, I’m scared of thunder and lightening and I’m hoping I will soon have a family that will make me feel safe and protected during another storm. I’ve undergone heartworm and demodex treatments, and I’m happy to report I’m cleared of both. I’m also spayed, and current on all vaccinations. Lately, I’ve been having such a great time at my foster home. My foster parents are awesome and they give me lots of love, attention and cuddle time. I love playing with my squeaker toys and stuffed animals. As a result, I’ve been nicknamed “Squeakers” because I love to chew on my squeaky ball like chewing gum… and it goes “squeak, squeak, squeak”! It drives my foster parents crazy, but I don’t care, I’m having a great time! I also love car rides, going for walks, and napping in my crate. I’m pretty well house broken and I do okay on a leash, but I need to be trained a little more. I can easily learn to do that if you work with me a little bit. I’m a quick learner & I’ve already learned to sit for treats, wait my turn, and share! Seriously, what more could you ask from a pup?! I’m a perfect 10!
