Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. SIXX
SIXX

Lola (aka Sixx) is wonderful. We feel she was loved by someone, who has taught her several things. She knows how to heel and she knows come. She also thinks she belongs on the bed when someone is in the bed. If one of us gets up in the morning and the other is still in the bed, as soon as she comes back inside the house, she goes and gets in the bed with whoever is in the bed!!!!!!!! She has been taught not to bark at other dogs, etc. We love her dearly and she has enjoyed our granddaughter playing with her all week. I hope you have found many more dogs homes lately. Thanks again, Pat>

MOCHA
MOCHA

I am so excited about Mocha, my new baby. I just adopted her 3 weeks ago and I can't believe what a great dog she is! Any attention that we pay to her makes her just melt, big eyes and lots of kisses. She is a 51 lb lap dog who thinks that she owns all of the furniture in her new house. The big back yard is a favorite too, and she loves to tackle anyone who will go out and run and wrestle with her, she took down my 20 year old son this weekend, he thought that the army make him stronger than one little dog, but she really showed him. The next morning I found Mocha sleeping in his bed with him, under the covers and head on his pillow. All of our family and friends love her too, she hasn't met anyone she doesn't love. I am so glad that I found Mocha and LSBR. Some day it will be time to add another boxer to the family, and LSBR is where we will go. Thanks to everyone at LSBR. --- The Lacy Family ---

Duke of Katy
Duke of Katy

Last July we adopted an underweight, fearful boy called "Duke of Katy." In January we almost returned him due to aggression toward us if we tried to make him do anything he didn't want to do. We contacted someone there and were asked if he was sleeping with us. We said "yes", and were told his behavior was our fault. She said "get him out of your bed." Then she told us "he doesn't understand his position in your home." She instructed us to leave a long leash on him and not allow him on our furniture. We were to tell him "off", when he got on the furniture. If he did not obey we were to use the leash to pull him off. We followed her instructions and within two days he was a different dog! He gets on the bed now by invitation only. We are so grateful to have learned this knowledge. Gideon is a wonderful boy! He is now up to 58 lbs, he was 45 lbs when we got him. He is so obedient now and we absolutely love him! He goes to work with us every day. No one can believe he is a rescue dog. We tell everyone we meet about your program. I am sending you a few photos; just wanted to brag! Thank you so much. --- Ruthie L Magehee ---

SHANIA
SHANIA

Here are some photos of Annie (AKA Shania) adopted in March 2008. One of the pictures is with her newest, bestest buddy, Louie. She is doing very well and about to begin Heart Worm treatment. She adjusted to our home very quickly and Louie and our cat, Nell, have fallen in love with her as have we. More later. Thanks to all of you who helped us adopt our precious Annie. --- Take care, Bob, Cindy and Matt Peel ---
