Update on JJ JJ is the best dog in the WHOLE world. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to adopt him. JJ instantly became a member of our family. It’s as if he has always been here with us. Libby, Mom’s Afghan, has adopted him as her baby. She cleans his face and even gives up her place on the couch for him. JJ and Reilly still pretty much just stare at each other, but no fights. JJ and H, the Maltese, play in the yard every morning like a couple of little kids play chase. So as for the other dogs, he’s a hit. As for me, JJ is my best friend. He goes everywhere with me. He’s my constant companion even when I sleep. When he rides in my truck, I have a harness so he does not slide around. When I work in the garage, JJ supervises to make sure the work I do is right. When I read, he lays in my lap and I read to him, even though he can’t hear. When I shower, he lays outside the tub patiently waiting. Like I said, he’s my shadow. We have been working with JJ on his crate training and his anxiety. I truly think someone might have left him in a crate for a very long time. He’s gotten so much better and I can even crate him when I go to work without him flooding the crate with drool. For this I’m thankful, because it was really nasty to clean up. I will write more in a few weeks, but wanted to give you an update and thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to be JJ’s human!

Nylah

I just wanted to send an update on Nylah. Things are continuing to go really well for us. In fact, things are going so well that we are searching for a Boxer brother for her. Nylah is great with our children. She checks on them every night before she goes to bed and then checks on them again in the morning. She has done that since the first night that she was with us. She has done really well with basic commands since day one. She will even sit, down, and stay for both of our children, ages 2 and 5. We are beginning agility training next week and we hope that will be a great way to channel some of her Boxer energy. We want to thank Lone Star Boxer Rescue for helping us find the missing piece to our family.

Kaylee

Kaylee( aka KK) was picked up by Laurie to "foster" over Thanksgiving weekend from Champions Forrest Animal Hospital because Laurie couldn't stand knowing Kaylee would spend Thanksgiving without a Family. When Laurie put KK in the car to take her home , KK kept trying to shake her hand as in " nice to meet you ". KK met Frosty( other adopted boxer from LSBR) upon arriving home and they became best friends immediately. After just a few days at our house , she became one of the family and stole our hearts and we couldnt imagine not having he around. Frosty and KK are inseparable they do everything together. Kaylee is so patient with Frosty , she lets him sit on her , jump on her , sleep on her. She has been wonderful for Frosty. Kaylee has become the most behaved dog we have in our house. We love her dearly and she is the sweetest , most tolerant dog and a great addition to our house. KK enjoys going to work with her Daddy and loves her new home. When we return home from being gone, she always runs to the window picks up her baby and jumps up and down and is so happy to greet us. Kaylee loves to travel with us . She fits into her spoiled life well :) Thank you LSBR for another great Boxer !

Frosty

Since Frosty first walked (or stumbled) into our lives, we laugh daily. We use the term " he's just a puppy", he gets away with murder, in our house often. He is the most curious, eager and happy dog we have ever come across. We started by fostering Frosty and the day he jumped in our house he instantly became part of our family. He stole our hearts immediately and it feels as though he's been here forever. He thinks he is quite the lap dog and will leap around the house and sit in your lap as if he weighs 5 pounds, like his sister Chloe who is a Yorkie and his brother Heffie who is a Pomeranian. With Frosty being deaf, he wears his expressions on his face. He also sounds 100 percent like Chewbecca when he decided's to make sounds if he wants to be playful, curious or letting you know he isn't happy. He is the most expressive dog you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. We can't imagine our lives without him. .. Then we stumbled across Kaylee! Story to be continued !! Stetson

Just wanted to send out a little Thank you for letting us bring such a bundle of Joy and energy into our home. Stetson is settling in well and learning very quickly about all the activity and noises in our house and loving his play time with the kids. We are working on basic commands and learning who's boss in the house. Stetson is very smart and a very quick learner. He is also getting along great with Rocky.
